Florianópolis decrees emergency situation due to rains and suspends classes
The mayor of Florianópolis, Topázio Neto (Republicans), decreed a situation of emergency in the city due to the heavy rains that hit the Santa Catarina state.

“The gauges of the National Center for Monitoring and Alerts of Natural Disasters (Cemaden) recorded 279.6 mm in São Pedro de Alcântara, 255.7 mm in São José, 231.4 mm in Palhoça, 190.2 mm in Major Gercino, 188.8 mm in São João Batista, 186 mm in Garuva, 183.7 mm in Florianópolis, 179.8 mm in Antônio Carlos,” he informed.
