RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The CCBB Educational – Art & Education Program, from Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB), celebrates tomorrow (15) the Composer’s Day with a free program for all ages, inspired in Pixinguinha’s repertoire.

The singer and composer is considered the main name of Brazilian popular music, and his works influenced the consolidation of chorinho.

According to a survey by the Central Office for Collection and Distribution (Ecad), the most re-recorded Brazilian song in the country is Carinhoso, by Pixinguinha and Braguinha, which surpassed Aquarela do Brasil, by Ary Barroso.

Until April last year, Carinhoso had 411 recordings registered in Ecad’s database and was the most chosen song by interpreters from all over the country. Aquarela do Brasil had 409 and occupied the second position in the ranking. In September 2020, the two songs led the list of most recorded songs, with 404 recordings each.

The Composer’s Day attractions at CCBB RJ start at 11 am. The venue has a capacity for 20 people, who must book in advance on the Eventim platform. Only one ticket will be issued per CPF. The activity is part of the Heritage and Memory project of the CCBB Educativo Arte & Educação Program.

The proposal is to commemorate dates that mark the Brazilian calendar as an opportunity to review narratives and strengthen people’s ties with national culture.

VACATION

During school vacations, there is still time to enjoy the activity “Lugar de Criação”, which takes place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, at 3 pm. These are experiences for all audiences, with artistic actions of creation and cultural mediation that stimulate conviviality and dialogue with the arts and current issues.

There is capacity for 20 people, with five family groups of up to four people each, by appointment at eventim.com.br and the CCBB RJ box office.

Only one ticket per CPF is issued for the activity. Up to three family members can accompany the representative with the same ticket. It lasts one hour, and the indicative rating is free, and it is recommended for people over three years old.

Tomorrow (15th), the Knowledge Workshop will take place, followed by the Art Workshop on the 16th, Art Games on the 22nd, and Story Workshops on the 29th.

Capacity is for 20 people, by appointment at Eventim. The activities are free and are recommended for ages 3 and up.

VISITS

The educational program also includes guided tours to the exhibitions on display at CCBB-Rio, including Leandro Erlich: The Tension and Ideas: Morandi’s Legacy. The long-term heritage visits offer the following itineraries: Museu Banco do Brasil, Galeria de Valores, and O Banco do Brasil e sua História.

In the guided tours, educators join the public to talk, exchange ideas, and share impressions about the works. The guided tours will last until January 22 and will take place on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 10 am, 12 pm, and 4 pm, and on Thursdays and Saturdays, at 10 am and 12 pm.

Heritage tours are held on Wednesdays at 12pm and Sundays at 4 pm. There is capacity for ten people, by appointment. The activities are recommended for children over five years old.

The CCBB Educativo – Arte & Educação Program develops actions that stimulate the experience, creation, investigation, and reflection through pedagogical, artistic, and curatorial processes (work methodologies). It offers educational visits, courses, workshops, meetings, and cultural practices every month.

The activities are in dialogue with CCBB’s programming. They are aimed at all audiences, bringing together inclusive and affirmative actions to strengthen relations with the school community, educators, people with disabilities, families, non-governmental organizations, social movements, professionals in the fields of art, culture, and other interested parties.

The complete program is available at www.ccbbeducativo.com.
