Rio’s Casa Geração Fashion School Hosts Party in Vidigal July 4th

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Casa Geração fashion school located in Vidigal is hosting a party at the very top of the favela community this Saturday, July 4th, from 6PM to 1AM. The venue is the chic luxury outpost Mirante do Arvrão, and the party name is “Bonsoir Mirante” (Good evening Mirante), created to celebrate the participation and success of the most recent Inside Bazar event put on by the school two weeks earlier.

The Casa Geração is an NGO (non-profit organization) that gives young Cariocas from the area a unique opportunity to learn about fashion, express their creative side, and show off their talents to the world. The school was created in 2013 by French journalists Nadine Gonzalez and Andrea Fasanello, in association with Modafusion, which was founded nearly ten years ago.

The Inside Bazar event was their second of this format, held on June 21st at the fashion school in Vidigal. They featured a lecture on the roles between blogs and fashion journalism, and of course the work of their students including engravings, male and female accessories, thrift styles and upcycling.

This new Bonsoir Mirante event is being organized by TUDO BEM!, which is a French-student organization associated with the Casa Geração school for the past few years. In their press announcement they describe, “This party mixes young French students, Brazilians and many other cultures and nationalities. […] To thank everyone who came to Inside Bazar and to keep on celebrating.”

“On the programme: two atmospheres. On the one hand you can share your dancing talent on the dancefloor, on the other hand, you could appreciate [relaxing in the] lounge space.” Also along with the event they announced a photography competition with the chance to win one of three Casa Geração Vidigal’s t-shirts by posting a funny picture with #CasaGeracaoVidigal on Instagram.

The venue is at the self-titled ‘boutique hostel’ Mirante do Arvrão which opened in February 2014, offering luxury-styled accommodations at the very top of Vidigal with sweeping views over Leblon and Ipanema beach.
