Brazilian States that are world champions in soybean production

At least four Brazilian states have harvests equivalent to those of the world champion countries in soybean production.

The information comes from a Western survey of the United States Department of Agriculture data.

On the list of Brazilian states that are world champions in soybean production are Mato Grosso, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, and Goiás.

Goiás has the smallest harvest estimate: 12.3 million tonnes.

Even so, the volume forecast for Goiás exceeds the projection for India’s harvest: 12 million tonnes.

Indian production is in fourth position in the global ranking.

Just above the Goiás are the crops of Rio Grande do Sul.

The Gaucho fields should produce around 22 million tonnes in 2023.

A harvest with more weight than that of China, fourth among the great harvests of the crop on the planet, with 20 million tonnes.

Paraná appears in second position in the national grain ranking.

The forecast for the state crop this year is 26 million tonnes.

Practically right next to Argentina’s 27 million tonnes – third among the producing nations.

Farmers from Mato Grosso hold the first position among national producers.

The 2023 state harvest is estimated at 38.5 million tonnes.

This way, only two harvests in the world surpass the local production: Brazil and the US – first and second in the global harvest.

Thus, leaving behind countries like Argentina, China, and India, Mato Grosso leads by a wide margin on the list of Brazilian states that are world champions in soy production.
