Brazil Sets 2024 Bonus Payments for Millions

Brazil has unveiled the 2024 PIS/Pasep schedule, tied to earnings from 2022.

Starting February 15, millions will get bonuses based on birth months.

Details emerged from the Labor Ministry, noting that 24.5 million people will share R$23.9 billion in 2024.

This initiative spans the private and public sectors, aligning payouts with birth dates from February 15 to August 15.

Eligibility checks start on February 5 via the Digital Work Card app or the gov.br website.

Key Dates for 2024 PIS Payments

  • Births in January kick off payments on February 15.
  • February birthdays follow on March 15.
  • March and April see payouts starting April 15.
  • May and June recipients begin collecting on May 15.
  • Those born in July and August receive funds on June 17.
  • September and October birthdays have payouts starting July 15.
  • Ending the cycle, November and December births trigger payments on August 15.

Who gets the bonus?

Workers eligible for this bonus must meet certain criteria.

Applicants must meet 2022 income criteria, 5-year PIS/Pasep registration, 30 days’ work, and accurate employment records.

Exceptions

Not everyone qualifies. Excluded are domestic workers, rural and urban employees of individuals, and those employed by individuals acting as legal entities.

Bonus Amounts

The bonus size depends on the 2022 work months. Each month translates to R$117.67, summing up to R$1,412 for a full year.
