Brazil: 7th Chinese Film Festival at São Paulo Cultural Center
The 7th São Paulo Chinese Film Festival will take place from October 4 to 15, free of charge, at Centro Cultural (Cultural Center), located in the Paraíso region, South Zone of São Paulo City.
Due to the pandemic, the festival’s last edition was held virtually, broadcasted by the São Paulo Government’s “Culture at Home” platform.
This year, the festival returns to the movie theaters with the theme “China – lights and shadows, sounds, and dreams”.

According to the curators, Shi Wenxue, a master in film sciences from the Beijing Film Academy, and Lilith Li, who coordinated the Macau International Film Festival, the selected feature films seek to break cultural barriers and stereotypes.
“They are works that portray our time and the new generation in stories full of truth and feeling, in a genuinely Chinese perspective,” they described.
The films in this edition are divided into three categories: human and historical perspective, contemporary urban perspective, and ethnic and regional perspective.
