Chile’s productivity grows in 2021 during pandemic and breaks with contractionary periods

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - This rebound contrasts with the 2020 downturn, when productivity fell for the second consecutive year. It dropped between -0.1% and -2.1% for the overall economy and between 1.9% and -4.0% for the non-mining economy.

The entity's advisor Verónica Mies pointed out that the 2021 result is "strongly influenced by an overheated economy, posting an aggregate GDP growth of 11.8% for the overall economy and 13.1% for the non-mining economy."
