Brazilian government demands blocking of assets for US$3.6 million to perpetrators of invasion in Brasilia

On Thursday, the Brazilian government asked the courts to block assets of companies and individuals suspected of financing and executing the assault on the Government House, the Congress, and the Supreme Court on Jan. 8, for 18.5 million reais, about 3.6 million dollars.

According to a statement from the Office of the Attorney General of the Union (AGU), the money requested is to pay for the damage caused to the infrastructure and furniture of the Planalto Palace, the National Congress, and the Federal Supreme Court, destroyed by Brazilian Spring protesters, many of them supporters of former President Jair . . .
