Lula loses momentum in social networks and lags well behind Bolsonaro
A survey conducted by the consultancy Bites at the request of the newspaper O Globo, released on Monday, 20, shows that the official accounts of President Lula are at their lowest levels of engagement since the beginning of the government.
The survey shows that since the beginning of the government, Lula made about 60 posts per day, if Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are considered.
The president reached an average of 29,500 likes, comments, and shares per post during the period.
During the campaign, between August 16 and October 30, this number was more than twice as high, reaching 72,700.
By comparison, the average reached by former president Jair Bolsonaro is eight times higher than Lula’s, according to O Globo, at 235,900 per post, and remained practically the same during the campaign, which was 240,200 per post.
Lula’s highest level of interaction was at the inauguration on January 1, and on January 8, with the demonstrations in the Federal District.
At the inauguration, the president had 16 million interactions in one day; on January 8, 7.6 million.
Interviewed by Globo, Bites founder Manoel Fernandes said that Lula managed to create a broad digital front during last year’s electoral campaign, but communication in the current government has not continued with this strategy.
“Campaign supports are no longer used now. The government lacks a clearer and more structured communication strategy in the digital environment to create a large national alliance around its government agenda.”
