Brazil is elected number one in the world for adventure
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A report from US News & World Report, released last week, listed Brazil as the top adventure destination among 78 nations. In the categories evaluated, out of 100 points, the country exceeded the mark of 80 points in categories such as climate, scenery, and fun. The prominent position confirms Brazil’s potential in the post-pandemic scenario, driven by nature tourism, the country’s great differential in the post-pandemic.
The document also analyzes the ability of countries to adapt and respond to obstacles and induced the new agility index this year as part of its annual ranking of the best countries. In the report, Brazil appears as the highest-ranked South American country in the Agility index (24th place), emphasizing the dynamism item – 80 out of 100 – which measures the country’s ability to adapt to new scenarios.
“The recognition of an international publication shows all the potential of Brazil in the world tourism scenario, reinforces the agility with which the federal government acted during the pandemic, and shows that we are on the right path to ensure the economic recovery of our country. It also confirms that tourism will play a decisive role in this mission,” said the Minister of Tourism, Carlos Brito.

Brazil is also highlighted when the subject is cultural influence – occupying the 13th place – and getting maximum marks in the category “culturally significant in terms of entertainment”, reinforcing the country’s potential for cultural tourism.
Concerned with this, the Ministry of Tourism, through the Institute for National Historical and Artistic Heritage (Iphan), has focused investments on recovering historical heritage. In 2021 alone, the Ministry invested R$87 million (US$19 million) and was able to give back to society 24 restoration works of historical assets and heritage sites, also ensuring the generation of 2,400 direct jobs in 14 states.
