The program ‘Direct to the Point’, from Jovem Pan, received on Monday, 20, the Minister of Tourism Gilson Machado Neto, who spoke about the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic in the sector and the projections for the industry in the coming months.

Commenting on the subject, the minister pointed out that Brazil is the owner of one of the greatest biodiversities in the world and that, given the increase in demand for nature tourism in the post-pandemic period, the forecasts are good and place Brazil as a real “player” in the industry, which bothers other nations.

“Brazil is a real player in agribusiness and post-pandemic tourism because the world will want nature tourism. I had access to data that, in the pre-pandemic period, out of every 100 searches on Google, only ten were for nature tourism. […] Today, out of every 100 searches, 54 are for nature tourism.

I ask you, which country has the most incredible biodiversity on the planet, has six biomes, and has no tsunami, hurricane, earthquake, or natural disaster? We are a real competitor, and this bothers a lot of people. A lot of people want to take us out of the market using this environmental deceit”, he affirmed, citing the criticism made to the government for environmental issues.
