Brazil creates 218.9 thousand formal jobs in July, 7th consecutive month of positive results

Brazil created 218,900 formal jobs in July. It is the 7th consecutive month of positive results. A total of 1.6 million jobs have been created so far this year.

The data was released Monday (Aug. 29) by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

The figure for July was lower than financial market analysts had forecast, with a balance of 250 thousand, median.

CUMULATIVE OVER THE YEAR.

From January through July 2022, 1.6 million formal job openings were created. This figure is lower than in the same period last year when a positive balance of 1.8 million jobs was recorded.

Currently, there are 42.2 million formal jobs in Brazil. This is a record figure.

JOBS BY SECTOR

All segments ended the month with a positive tendency. The services sector recorded the best performance:

JOBS BY REGION

Jobs were created in all 5 regions of the state:

Southeast: 99,530;
Northeast: 49,215
South: 28,152
Central-West: 25,179;
North: 16,080.

AVERAGE SALARY.

Workers had an average salary of R$1,926.54 (US$385) in July. The value is 0.8% higher than the value registered in June. This represents an increase above inflation of R$ 15.31.
