Tourist arrivals to Argentina by international air increased 320.3% year-on-year

The arrival of foreign tourists to Argentina by international air recorded an increase of 320.3% year-on-year in November and accumulated in the first eleven months of 2022 an increase of 975.5%, according to data released today Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC).

According to the state entity, in the eleventh month of last year, 841,500 non-resident visitors, including tourists and excursionists, entered the country through all access routes, of which 45.6% arrived by air.

Of the total number of visitors who entered the country during that month, another 41.5% used the land route and the remaining 12.9% arrived by sea or river, according to INDEC.

Among Argentina’s leading countries of origin of tourists was Uruguay, with 19.6%; Chile, with 17.2% and Brazil, with 16.4%; “which together represented 53.1% of the total inbound tourism”, the entity pointed out.

Regarding outbound tourism, the INDEC revealed that outbound departures abroad comprised 724,700 resident visitors through all international routes.
