Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – The Rio Times is proud present The Rio DJ Mixup tonight at Mekong restaurant and bar in Leblon. This is the first in a series of special social gatherings that will take place throughout Rio over the next months. Tonight’s premier edition focuses on the nightlife of Rio de Janeiro and is open to anyone who wants to come. Invited guests include DJs, both local and international, promoters, venue owners, music lovers, club goers and everyone else in between.
This event was conceived to bring like-minded people of their respected industries together to discuss the scene, exchange ideas, find new contacts and create new business opportunities. The event will be hosted at Mekong, an Asian fusion restaurant which regularly hosts special events such as this. Music will be provided by Tee Cardaci of the Botafogo Social Club. Special drink promotions are sponsored by Absolut Vodka and Magnífica Cachaça from 7PM to 9PM.

The Rio Times teams up with Asian fusion restaurant Mekong to host The Rio Times DJ Mixup. The event will feature music, drink specials and a who’s who of attendees. Co-promoters include Casa Alto Vidigal, SR2 Fotografia, Fosfobox, Molotov21, Strikeconcert Agencia and Galeria Café. Attendees are invited to mix and mingle about the nightlife of Rio de Janeiro. Those who attend will also receive a wristband for a discounted entrance to the official after party at Fosfobox.

Wobble w/ Zed Bias (Copacabana)
The Wobble Crew has made a name for themselves as purveyors of the beat, the heavy beat. Tonight will feature dubstep and UK garage guru Zed Bias, who has more than twenty years of experience under his belt. Frontman Rodrigo S. will be representing Wobble as well as Ricardo Estrella and the Marginal Men.

Arpex returns for their Thursday night weekly dominance, with DJ Bruno Lima playing top hits of house, world music, funk and reggaeton.
