Supreme Court Justice Luis Barroso says Brazil can not “facilitate” entry of unvaccinated
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Supreme Court (STF) Justice Luis Roberto Barroso said Monday (13) that it is not possible to “facilitate” the entry of the unvaccinated into Brazil. Over the weekend, he ordered the government to require proof of vaccination from travelers entering the country.
Barroso did not elaborate on what he meant by “facilitating entry for the unvaccinated.” With a mandatory vaccination certificate, the country makes it difficult, or impossible, for the unvaccinated to enter the country, which is discriminatory.
Without a mandatory vaccination certificate, all travelers who want to vacation in Brazil could enter the country on equal footing. The ones with vaccination certificates would enter without quarantine, the ones without certificates would quarantine, test, and then be free to enjoy Brazil.

“It seems clear that if thousands of people opted for quarantine instead of vaccination, there would be no way to monitor, and the risk would be great. We have achieved in Brazil an extensive vaccination. Brazil is an exemplary country in terms of vaccination. We managed to contain the number of deaths, the average is below 200. Therefore, we must not make this matter easier”, he said during an event in Manaus.
In his speech, the Justice said he could not talk more about the decision because it will still be analyzed by the collegiate, in a virtual plenary session scheduled to begin in the early hours of Wednesday (15) and end at 11:59 pm on Thursday.
“The Supreme Court has a tradition of applying what is called the precautionary principle. When dealing with life and health, we adopt the most conservative measure possible to prevent people from dying,” he said.
In a decree last week, the government had established that anyone who had not taken the vaccine could be quarantined for five days, in addition to submitting a new negative test for covid-19 to circulate within Brazilian territory.
On Friday, after a hacker attack on the Ministry of Health’s websites, which brought down ConecteSUS (the platform that gathers vaccination data), the government decided to suspend the beginning of the implementation of the measures.
SCIENTIFIC STUDIES ARE BEING IGNORED
At least 22 scientific studies demonstrate that mandates mandating or forcing Covid-19 vaccines provide no overall population health benefit and may even be harmful.
These research papers and studies raise doubts that Covid-19 vaccine mandates are supported by science and good public health practice.
Anyone, especially politicians, mayors, governors, chancellors, and presidents who are planning to implement Covid passports and/or vaccine mandates should be alerted and those seeking to challenge these mandates are invited to carefully consult these studies.
