Saturday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Run VDG returns for a very special edition at the top of the Vidigal mountain. Tonight will commemorate three years of this outstanding party which has grown to be one of the most popular events in Rio.
If you have not been to a party at Alto Vidigal, then you are definitely missing out. Outdoors and situated at the very top of the hill, you can see all of Rio while dancing to pure house music. Tonight’s special guests hail from Berlin, Sao Paulo, San Francisco and London. Berlin Based DJ and producer Noema will make a special appearance, playing his funky blend of deep house, followed by Sao Paulo’s very own Anhanguera. The funky jackin house duo have skyrocketed to the top of the house scene with releases on Robsoul, Disko Zoo and their own imprint Maracuja. They will be joined by Run VDG residents, San Francisco transplant Mike Frugaletti and Jody King from London.

Steve Vai (Lapa)
Legendary guitarist Steve Vai comes to Rio at Circo Voador tonight. Steve Vai is an Italian-American guitarist, songwriter and producer who has sold over 15 million albums. After starting his career as a music transcriptionist for Frank Zappa, Vai recorded and toured in Zappa’s band for two years, from 1980 to 1982. He began a solo career in 1983, has released eight solo albums and won three Grammy Awards.
