Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – The future is now as the weekly Karaokê Indie party returns to Casa da Matriz in Botafogo tonight with a special Back to the Future edition.
The party is celebrating the trilogy tonight because in the second movie of the series, 1989’s “Back to the Future II,” main character Marty McFly traveled to the future date of Oct. 21, 2015.
In addition to eight hours of singing during the party, there will be snacks and shots of rum distributed throughout the night. Promotions will include two-for-one specials on five drinks; caipirinha, caipivodka, Hi-fi, Cuba Libre and mojito until midnight.
On the second floor during the night, DJs Ricardo Abrahin, Pilar Garcez, and Chacal will spin the best of pop, rock and Muse, in anticipation of their Thursday night show at HSBC Arena.

Arkona (Lapa)
Tonight Russian pagan metal/folk metal band Arkona will perform live at Teatro Odisséia in Lapa. Currently on the Latin American leg of their Pagan Rebellion tour, the group consists of vocalist Masha “Scream”, guitarist Sergei “Lazar”, bassist Ruslan “Kniaz”, drummer Andrey Ischenko, ethnic instrumentalist Vladimir “Volk”, and keyboardist Anton Dobrovolskiy.

O Club Workout (Arpoador)
O Club Workout (the Workout Club) returns to Rio’s Cave club in Arpoador tonight for a special AfroVibe edition with Maryam Kaba. The Club Workout originated in NYC and arrived in Rio following the success of classes in São Paulo. The event is an aerobic twerk class inspired by pop diva choreography. The class will last approximately one hour.
