Muse’s guitarist and pianist Matthew Bellamy, bassist Christopher Wolstenholme, and drummer and percussionist Dominic Howard arrive in Rio de Janeiro as part of their ongoing world tour in support of their most recent release, Drones.
Formed in 1994, the trio has released seven studio albums and has sold seventeen million of those albums worldwide. In addition to multiple MTV, NME, and Q Awards and nominations, Muse won the Grammy Award for “Best Rock Album” for their third release, The Resistance, in 2011.
Muse was last in Rio performing as headliners of the second night of the 2013 Rock in Rio festival. They are well known for their over-the-top performances filled with props, moving stages, multiple screens and futuristic light displays.

It’s time again for metal as the Dutch death metal band Asphyx performs live at Teatro Odisséia in Lapa tonight. Additionally during the night, bands Miasthenia and Coldblood will perform live.

The Veneno party is back at Casa da Matriz tonight. For over ten years the weekly events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped start weekends early in Rio. Tonight will be no exception as DJs Tulio Araujo and Beto Artista will spin the best of rock and pop on the first floor and the Dancing Shoes party will take over the second floor with with DJ Eduardo Hoffman and guests spinning the best of indie throughout the night. Additionally, promotions will include two-for-one specials on Antarctica beer from 10PM to 12AM.

Tonight Ronaldo Gonçalves will start the night at Carioca da Gema beginning at 8:30 PM and Toninho Geraes will follow at 10:30 PM. Geraes has composed for artists including Martinho da Vila and Zeca Pagodinho and during his show tonight, he will sing their hits, as well as his own compositions. Additionally, he will reinterpret the works of Moacyr Luz, Paulinho da Viola, and Chico Buarque, among others.

Salsa and Forró Leviano (Lapa)
The Salsa and Forró party is back at Lapa’s Leviano bar tonight and that means it’s time to dance. The group Mano a Mano will start things off at 8PM with salsa and merengue on the first floor and later Marcelo Mimoso will perform the best of Forró on the second floor. Additionally, Lucas de Moraes and the group Belisco will perform and DJ Angolano will spin salsa and DJ Léo Araripe will spin forró during the night.
