Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Rhye will perform live tonight at Sacadura 154 to help the Rio de Janeiro-based crowdfunding project Queremos celebrate its fifth anniversary.
Formed in 2010 in Rio de Janeiro by six friends determined to have the bands they loved play in the city, Queremos has helped to book over eighty shows in Rio and in additional cities in Brazil.
Performing tonight for the anniversary party, Rhye is a Los Angeles-based duo consisting of Canadian singer Milosh and Danish instrumentalist Robin Hannibal. Their debut album, Woman, was released in 2013 and included the singles “Open” and “The Fall.”
Additionally during the night, DJs and performers will include Nepal, Zeh Pretim, Zedoroque, João Brasil, Omulu, Leo Justi, Marcelinho da Lua, Satta, Cadinho, Rapha Lima, Yugo, Nado Leal, Calbuque, Cix & Yasmin, Filipe Raposo, Pino, Andrei Yurievitch, Fernando Schlaepfer, Rodrigo Esper, Thiago Burgos, Bruno Natal, Pedro Seiler, and Tomás Pinheiro.

Queremos Fifth Anniversary Party with Rhye (Saúde)
Tonight the Los Angeles-based duo Rhye will perform live at Sacadura 154 in Saúde to help Rio de Janeiro crowdfunded kick-starter Queremos to celebrate it’s fifth anniversary. Additionally over a dozen DJs will spin during the night.

Tonight Bem Brasil Entretenimento will present the Girls Night Out party at the New Mariuzinn Copacabana. Caipirinhas will be free until 12AM and additional promotions will include two-for-one specials on beer, caipirinahs and Cuba Libre all night long. There will also be a premium open bar for women until 12AM. DJs Guga Fernandes and Bruno Lima will spin the best of house, deep house, trap, hip hop, funk chic, Latin Rhythms and World Music.

The Veneno party is back at Casa da Matriz tonight. For over ten years the weekly events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped start weekends early in Rio. Tonight will be no exception as DJs Tulio Araujo and Beto Artista will spin the best of rock and pop on the first floor and the Satisfation party will to take over the second floor during the night.The first fifty women to arrive with their names on the list, get in free.

On Thursday nights the Praia Club is hosting the Shake u Party. DJs Jonathan K, E$$, and De Luca will spin the best of pop indie, house, funk, hip hop, trap, and Latin Rhythms during the night. The entrance fee will be free for women with their names on the list until 12AM and there will be an open bar for women until 12AM. Caipirinhas will be free for everyone until 12AM. Tonight the Cabaret Lounge in Botafogo will host the Quinta (Thursady) party with DJ Luciano Jacaré spinning the best of rock and pop rock during happy hour. Promotions will include two-for-one specials on Heineken and glasses of sparkling wine from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

It’s all about samba at Lapa’s Carioca da Gema as singer Nelson Félix gets things started at 8:30 PM and Tempero Carioca follows at 10:30 PM with veterans of the samba genre delivering one of the best rodas de samba in the city tonight.

The Salsa and Forró party is back at Lapa’s Leviano bar tonight and that means it’s time to dance. The group Mano a Mano will start things off at 8PM with salsa and merengue on the first floor and later Marcelo Mimoso will perform the best of Forró on the second floor. Additionally, Lucas de Moraes and the group Belisco will perform and DJ Angolano will spin salsa and DJ Léo Araripe will spin forró during the night.
