Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Tonight, La Paz will bring a special party on the eve of world hip hop day. The party tonight is Barte and MPA party, with plenty of hip hop with a great line up of DJs well-known on the scene.

There will also be a the Batalha do Barão, a fierce battle between eight MCs that will get the place up on its feet and well worth watching for lyrical talent and incredible, quick raps.

Drink promotions include open bar until midnight, two beers for R$10 all night, and various discounts in vodka combos and shots.

Circo Voador in Lapa will host singer Rubel who will be performing and presenting songs from his album, Pearl.

Barte and MPA (Centro)
La Paz in Centro will host the Barte and MPA party in celebration of the eve of worldwide day of hip hop. The party will of course bring plenty of hip hop as well as the Batalha do Barão, a battle between eight MCs. There will be an open bar until midnight and variosu drinks promotions throughout the night.

Encontro dos Bailes – Tree party edition (Centro)
Boate Boiler will host another incredible party tonight, bringing four different parties to its four dance floors. The night begins at 11PM, with DJs bringing the best of reggaeton, deep, techno, hip hop, funk and trap.

Festa na arvore (Arpoador)
Tonight the CAVE club in Arpoador will host the Festa na Arvore party. DJs Pedro Sampaio, DanSe7, Everton Mali, Lustosa and Maia will spin the best of hip hop, trap and funk.

Mariana Iris will perform live tonight at Carioca da Gema at 11PM. There will be an opening act with singer Julieta Brandao at 9PM.

Chutando o Balde, Banda JPG, Sarah, DJ Marcelo Sabre, Forró-Calça Arriada (Centro)
Beginning at 8PM, Chutando o Balde will start the night at Rio Scenarium with the best of samba de raiz. Banda JPG will follow at 10@30 PM with the best of Brazilian dance music to get the crowd’s groove on and the best of national rock. 11PM, Sarah will perform the best of samba, followed by DJ Marcelo Sabre. Then beginning at 3:30AM, Forró-Calça Arriada will perform the best of forró.

Lapafest (Lapa)
It’s time again for Lapafest at Leviano bar tonight. Singer Mar Cesar will start off the night on the first floor by performing well-known samba, MPB, and sambalanço songs. The bloco Picada de Primeira will follow with the best of samba, MPB, soul, and samba reggae. On the second floor during the night, the power trio Johnny’s will perform the best of international pop rock.

Happy Hour and Evite Acidentes, Faça de Propósito (Botafogo)
Tonight Bar Bukowski will host Drunk Hour (Happy Hour with drink specials) from 6:30 PM to 10PM. After, Bar Bukowski will begin the party, Evite Acidentes, Faça de Propósito with plenty of rock music and live rock acts.

Blue Agave Ipanema is always a great place for Mexican food, drinks and for watching live sport streams and broadcasts. Just around the corner from Posto 9, the bar is also known for its mostly English-speaking staff and the mostly English-speaking crowd which frequents the establishment. Be sure to check out Blue Agave in Copacabana also for a great night out.
