LIVE:
Braza (Lapa) – The Brazilian hip-hop and rap artist Braza will perform this Friday at Circo Voador.

Braza will play the biggest hits of his three albuns. Throes + The Shine will open the night at Circo’s stage, with New Yorker DJ and producer Victor Rice spinning Jamaican music in the intervals.

CARNIVAL:
Primavera das Flores (Centro) – The fourth anniversary of Carnival bloco “Vem Cá, Minha Flor” will be celebrated this Friday at Nay Cidades, in Santo Cristo, Centro.

Apart from the performance of “Vem Cá”, Carnival bloco “Amigos da Onça” will also be playing and dancing at the event. DJs Julio Rodrigues, So Lima and Mito will spin during the breaks.

MÚSICA BRASILEIRA:
Forró de Bamba (Lapa) – It’s time for some live forró music at Clube dos Democráticos, in Lapa.

The Forró de Bamba party is celebrating their seventh anniversary with group Os 3 do Nordeste, which will make everyone dance until the late hours with traditional forró. DJ Márcio will spin Brazilian music during the intervals.

Bartman (Flamengo)
This eccentric boteco does everything right. With great Brazilian bar food, excellent beer, and a loyal crowd, Bartman also sets itself apart from the competition with its mad decor of kitschy comic book regalia. Try the carne seca with fried aipim for a real hearty treat.

Casa da Cachaça (Lapa)
This cultural heritage site of Rio de Janeiro was the first cachaçaria to open in the city, back in 1960. And by the look of things, they’ve been busy ever since, with over 200 cachaças piled up the walls and hanging from the ceiling. The regular caipirinhas here are a great value and pack a punch. For an interesting twist, try a flavored shot, such as the açaí-infused cachaça.

Winehouse (Botafogo)
Winehouse is a wine bar run by a British expat who has brought an eclectic range of wines to Rio including a mix of fabulous national and international favorites. There is also a great selection of nibbles and cheese boards. For those who are not too keen on wine, there are plenty of beer and cocktail options, too. Happy hour begins at 5 PM and finishes at 8 PM.
