Porto de Galinhas in Brazil is among the world’s 10 most welcoming destinations in 2023
The Traveller Review Award, from Booking.com, pointed out cities with the world’s most comfortable and sustainable accommodations.
PORTO DE GALINHAS, BRAZIL
This city in the state of Pernambuco was recommended for its beautiful beaches with crystal clear water and sand and for offering “the genuine Brazilian beach culture” with a calm atmosphere.

There are also natural pools among coral reefs, where it is possible to see tropical fish up close, accessible by raft. Seafood restaurants along the shore and steakhouses were also considered a must-see.
POLIGNANO A MARE, ITALY

Billed as picturesque, the little town of colorful houses on a cliff overlooking the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea offers beautiful beaches. Booking.com recommends world-famous free fall diving and a visit to Grotta Palazzese, a restaurant in an underwater cave.
HUALIEN CITY, TAIWAN
Situated on the east coast of Taiwan, the city is surrounded by the most beautiful national park, Taroko, famous for its waterfalls and beautiful temples in the midst of nature.

With its peaceful atmosphere, Hualien is also suitable for food lovers, who can sample its delicacies in the night markets, such as Dongdaemun.
SAN SEBASTIAN, SPAIN
Surrounded by beaches right in the heart of the Basque Country, San Sebastian has natural beauty and is known by foodies for its Michelin-starred restaurants.

But the coastline is not only about fancy restaurants, where you can try fresh oysters, Pintxos (Basque tapas), and a glass of Txakoli, a typical sparkling wine of the region.
DRESDEN, GERMANY
Historically, the city that was destroyed during World War II has rebuilt itself and today maintains an impressive heritage preserved in baroque architecture buildings.

Called the “Florence of the North”, thanks to the style and richness of its works, it offers a walking tour through its old center, where it is possible to see Frauenkirche, a church rebuilt after the bombings.
KLAIPÈDA, LITHUANIA
The port city at the meeting of the Baltic Sea and the Dané River also has beautiful historical architectural buildings to visit.

German-style, timber-framed houses blend in with modern buildings.
Still, it is also possible to see natural beauty on the Curland Isthmus with its 100-kilometer-long lagoon-front dune peninsula, a Unesco World Heritage Site.
YORK, UNITED KINGDOM
Founded by the Romans, the city also preserves relics from the Middle Ages, such as the York Cathedral in Gothic style.

Besides the historical tours, it is a must-see, according to Booking.com, to see its teahouses, cute stores, and cozy cafes in The Shambles, a 14th-century cobblestone street.
It is also recommended to board the Ghost Bus Tour to recognize the ‘macabre’ stops of the destination.
USHUAIA, ARGENTINA
Known as the “end of the world” because it is the southernmost city on the planet, Ushuaia is the last stop before Antarctica.

It is perfect for lovers of natural beauty, with unique landscapes — tundras, mountains, glaciers, penguins, and typical trees – of Argentine Patagonia in the Tierra del Fuego parks, the most beautiful in the country – ideal for hiking or even exploring along the coast by boat.
MEXICO CITY, MEXICO
With various eclectic neighborhoods, the Mexican capital has options for visiting historical ruins, museums, and parks.
This is the case of its historical center – a Unesco World Heritage Site.

The platform also suggests tasting genuine tacos, quesadillas, mescal, and tequila in the many local restaurants. It is also worth visiting the nearby complex of Teotihuacán, a pre-Columbian city.
GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA
A definite destination for surfers, the Australian city mixes quiet beaches with luxury resorts and theme parks – it is the capital of this type of attraction in the country and entertains travelers of all ages.

Those who prefer to explore natural beauty can still enjoy visiting the Nerang and Lamington National Parks, where it is possible to go trekking or biking.
