The advent of social networks has created a worldwide profession that did not exist until two decades ago: that of influencers.

And those who are well positioned in this new job of the 21st century can earn figures that are light years away from what most workers in Argentina earn.

For influencers with more than 700,000 followers and engagement – people interacting with this account – of 50,000 accounts, the annual turnover for promotional activities on social networks usually ranges between US$30,000 and US$150,000 in Argentina, according to a public relations specialist who works with influencers, who asked not to be identified, told Bloomberg Linea.

In countries such as Mexico and Chile, they can even get 50% more.

Influencers with more than 700,000 followers and engagement of 50,000 accounts, the annual turnover ranges between US$30,000 and US$150,000 in Argentina.

There are more than 440 accounts in the country with more than 700,000 followers, but only three with more than 10 million.

When asked how much a personality such as the music producer Bizarrap, whose Instagram account is the most followed in Argentina, can earn for participating in an event, this same source stated categorically: whatever he wants.

The top ten Argentine Instagram profiles with the most followers include personalities from different fields: a music producer, singers of urban rhythms, TV hosts, a sports entity, and a model, among others.

How much economic profit can a person get from their nickname of an influencer? A lot.

Below, Bloomberg Linea developed a list of the 10 Instagram profiles with the highest number of followers in the country.

#1 BIZARRAP

Gonzalo Julián Conde, popularly known as Bizarrap, or BZRP., is a 24-year-old Argentine music producer who has been working in video and music making since he was 14.

His Instagram account has 15.3 million followers.

In 2018, he rose to fame thanks to the so-called BZRP Freestyle Sessions, for which he summoned urban music artists such as Trueno, Sony, and Kodigo, among others.

In 2019, he released his first BZRP Music Session with Argentine artist Bhavi and from there, he began to make a series of sessions with relevant artists from the local and international scene.

Every time he uploads a video to YouTube, millions of people around the world view it.

One of the peculiarities of his work is that he began recording and conducting the sessions from the house where he lives with his family in Ramos Mejía. More precisely, from his bedroom.

All known images of her face are with sunglasses on.

#2 MARIANA ESPÓSITO

The second influencer with the most followers is Instagram is singer and actress Mariana Lali Espósito, who, unlike Bizarrap, does come from the more traditional media world.

The 31-year-old artist has 11.2 million followers on her official account: lalioficial.

Lali started in show business at a very young age, working in TV shows produced by Cris Morena (Rincón de luz, Floricienta, and Chiquititas sin fin, among others), and her leap to fame came thanks to the successful teen series Casi Ángeles, which aired between 2006 and 2008.

Her last television participation was in the program La Voz Argentina, in which she participated as a judge.

Her video clips have an enormous repercussion on traditional media, YouTube, and social networks.

#3 MARÍA BECERRA

The third personality with the most followers in Argentina is the 22-year-old singer and songwriter of urban rhythms, María Becerra.

Becerra has 10.6 million followers on her Instagram account.

Born in Quilmes, she began to have visibility in networks at the age of twelve through Facebook, uploading covers and videos of her castings for children’s TV shows.

Due to the pandemic, her first live show was postponed, which came at the age of 21, at the Teatro Gran Rivadavia in Buenos Aires.

However, before that show, millions of fans had already followed his songs and videos on YouTube.

Marcelo Tinelli

#4 MARCELO TINELLI

The fourth position is occupied by TV host, businessman, and sports director Marcelo Tinelli. At 62 years old, Tinelli has 9.4 million followers on Instagram.

Tinelli began his media career in radio, working at Radio Rivadavia as a sports reporter in the 1970s.

Later he would get the opportunity to work with an emblem of radio and television as Juan Alberto Badía. In the early 1990s, he hosted “Videomatch” (later called Showmatch) and Ritmo de la Noche, with which he went on to have absolute massivity.

For three decades, he was perhaps the most famous person on Argentine television.

In recent years he began a management career in the club of his love, San Lorenzo, of which he became president.

Kevin Macri

#5 KEVIN MACRI

The fifth personality with the most followers is Uruguayan Kevin Macri. Why does he appear on this list despite being born in Uruguay?

Bloomberg Linea accessed a source of information about the influencers with more followers, for which it was taken as a reference that at least 40% of its audience is Argentine, something that happens with Kevin Macri.

He has 8.8 million followers on Instagram.

His rise to fame came from the success of his videos on YouTube.
