Governor of the Brazilian Federal District says plan to contain protests was sabotaged
The governor of the Federal District (DF) removed from office, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), said that there was sabotage of security in the District, encouraging the invasion of Three Powers headquarters by the demonstrators.
According to Ibaneis’s defense, the Government of the Federal District and the security forces followed “a protocol of integrated actions, previously elaborated with the purpose of promoting public security actions” on the weekend in which the protests were scheduled.
Ibaneis “trusted in the execution, even more so when he obtained information that everything was going on in an absolutely calm and peaceful manner”, say the lawyers.

The “fact is that, at some point, in terms of execution, the previously established protocol was unusually breached, allowing or facilitating the unbelievable and irremissible acts of violence practiced against the Powers of the Republic and against the Democratic State of Law”.
The lawyers also mention that the security intervenor in the DF, Ricardo Capelli, claims that the former Secretary of Public Security for the DF, Anderson Torres, sabotaged the security scheme. Ibaneis remains out of office for the next 90 days.
