Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Rio de Janeiro is in for a special treat tonight as a true legend of hip hop makes a rare appearance in the heart of Lapa. Chali 2na, from the famously funky hip hop group Jurassic 5, returns to Brazil for an exceptional show and presentation of some new hits from Against the Current. He will perform tonight in Lapa with support from DJs Pachu, Leo Motta, Donnie Jay and Jeff Bass.
Charlie 2na is best known as a founding member and baritone-voiced wordsmith of the critically acclaimed group Jurassic 5. He is also a member of the grammy winning group Ozomatli as well as his solo projects Fish Outta Water and Mixtape Series. His way with words has resulted in collaborations with some of the biggest names in the scene, such as Mos Def, Talib Kwali, Damian Marley, Roots Manuva and many more. A rare opportunity to see an unmistakable talent in action.
