MIDWEST

In the wake of the novel Pantanal, the tip is to get to know Caiman, which translates the Pantanal lifestyle with a touch of refinement.

A pioneer in local ecotourism, the property was built in an oasis of 53,000 hectares, surrounded by woods, rivers, dams, and the vitality of fauna and flora.

It is located in the north of Mato Grosso do Sul, in Miranda, 236 kilometers from Campo Grande airport.

You must travel by car for four hours from the state capital airport or take a private plane (the inn has an airstrip).

Next to the inn is an area of ​​5,600 hectares that houses a Private Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN).

There, administrators guarantee the preservation of more than 500 species of animals that live in freedom, such as the jaguar, giant anteater, tapir, capybara, hyacinth macaw, and alligator.

In addition to all the ecological appeal, the visitor can choose between three types of accommodation.

The leading inn, which bears the name Casa Caiman, has 18 apartments with a balcony, swimming pool, deck overlooking the bay, living rooms, fireplaces, and a restaurant.

Those looking for privacy can stay in one of two private accommodations, closed for small groups (from 10 to 12 people): Villa Baiazinha, located next to a bay with crystal clear waters, and Villa Cordilheira, surrounded by extensive green areas.

In gastronomy, the traveler enjoys the best regional cuisine. Fish, vegetables, and fruits typical of the region are an attraction in their own right.

And to crown the trip, there could be no lack of outdoor activities, such as tours in open cars, guided walks (even at night, keeping an eye on the animals’ habits), canoeing, horseback riding, biking, and bird watching.

NORTH

On the banks of the Rio Negro, 180 kilometers from Manaus (AM), in the municipality of Novo Airão, the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge is an exclusive jungle hotel built in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest.

Located in front of Anavilhanas National Park, the second largest river archipelago in the world, the development is surrounded by tropical forests.

From Manaus, there are two options: a 2h45min car trip by paved road or a seaplane trip, in a journey that lasts 35 minutes.

Anavilhanas has 16 chalets, four superior bungalows, and two panoramic bungalows overlooking the forest.
