South Africa Election Results Data Room
This page holds the official numbers behind our interactive map of South Africa’s 2026 local elections. It covers the ANC’s fall to 30.76% of the vote, province by province and for the eight big cities, with the 2021 and 2016 results for comparison.
Every number behind the map comes from the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) results dashboard, read on 8 November 2026 at 8:44 p.m. South African time. Provincial figures add up all municipal ballots in each province; shares combine the ward and party-list ballots.

Percentages are the IEC's shares of valid ballots across the ward and party-list papers. Seats in the cities are the council seats the dashboard allocated; a majority needs half the seats plus one. Hung means no party holds more than half the seats. Two Eastern Cape councils (Mnquma and King Sabata Dalindyebo) still had 41 seats unallocated on the dashboard, so national seat totals by party are not shown.
