Brisanet Expands Digital Footprint Across Northeast Brazil

Brisanet, the largest regional internet provider in Northeast Brazil, reported a 12.8% growth in its broadband customer base, reaching 1.5 million subscribers in April 2025.

The company released these figures as part of its regular operational updates. The telecommunications firm now passes 7.12 million potential households with its fiber optic network, a modest 1.4% yearly increase.

This infrastructure spans 158 cities throughout Brazil’s Northeast region, establishing Brisanet as a dominant regional player in the telecommunications market.

Beyond its direct operations, Brisanet extends its reach through Agility Telecom. This franchise network consists of 63 partners who serve 142,964 customers in smaller towns and rural districts.

These franchisees target areas that might otherwise remain underserved by major telecommunications providers. Brisanet’s mobile service division shows even stronger momentum with 495,200 customers, jumping 9.6% from March figures.

The mobile network now covers 12.6 million people across 264 cities, reflecting the company’s aggressive expansion strategy in wireless services. The company plans to invest approximately 700 million reais (about $122 million) throughout 2025.

Brisanet Prioritizes Northeast Expansion

This investment focuses primarily on expanding mobile network coverage to new territories within the Northeast. The figure represents a strategic 30% reduction from 2024 investments, when the company heavily funded 5G infrastructure development.

Financial results remain solid with first-quarter revenue reaching 391.6 million reais, up 17% year-over-year. The adjusted EBITDA grew 22.1% to 173.2 million reais, achieving a healthy 44% margin. Net profit held steady at 20.4 million reais.

Brisanet continues to pursue organic growth rather than acquisitions. The company’s Fixed Wireless Access service expanded dramatically, connecting 32,000 customers by March 2025. This represents over 300% growth compared to the previous year.

The company aims to launch mobile services in three additional Northeast capital cities during 2025. This regional focus differentiates Brisanet from national competitors and allows targeted investment in underserved markets with significant growth potential.
