Brazil’s tourism sector to grow 22% this year
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The CNC points out that, between March 2020 and October this year, tourism in Brazil lost approximately US$80 billion.
In 2020 alone, the drop in revenue stood at 36%, with São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the main hotspots of the pandemic, leading the losses and accounting for 55% of the national decline.

Nevertheless, the Tourism sector has been gradually rebounding since last March, although revenue is still 19.5% below that recorded in February 2020, before the pandemic.
The CNC indicates that, in addition to the 21.9% growth in revenues this year, despite the cancellation of relevant events in the country, such as the traditional New Year’s Eve in Rio de Janeiro, the result will also be positive in 2022, which is expected to increase by 2.4%.
