Brazil’s tourism sector is set for a major boost. WTTC forecasts a $169.3 billion contribution to Brazil’s GDP in 2024 from travel and tourism. This marks a 9.5% increase from 2019.

The Economic Impact Report (EIR) for 2024, created by the WTTC and Oxford Economics, provides these insights.

The tourism industry in Brazil will employ over 8 million people by the end of 2024. This will account for 8.1% of all jobs in the country.

International visitors are expected to spend $7 billion in Brazil in 2024. This represents a 9.5% rise from 2019. Additionally, domestic tourism spending is predicted to hit a record of $112.4 billion.

The WTTC‘s analysis covers 185 countries. Brazil stands out among 98 destinations, exceeding previous GDP contribution records in 2023.

The Brazilian travel and tourism sector surpassed 2019 levels by 7%. Currently, tourism represents 7.7% of Brazil’s economy. The sector contributed $165.4 billion in 2023.

That year, the industry added 91,000 jobs compared to 2019, totaling 7.76 million jobs nationwide.

Brazil’s Booming Tourism Sector

International tourism spending reached $6.8 billion in 2023. This is 5.7% higher than in 2019. Domestic tourism spending also hit an all-time high of over $111 billion.

The WTTC sees a bright future for Brazil’s tourism sector. By 2034, the sector is expected to contribute $194.6 billion to the economy.

However, this will represent 7.4% of the national GDP. The industry will provide employment for 9.44 million people, accounting for 9.2% of Brazil’s workforce.

Tourism plays a crucial role in Brazil’s economic growth and job creation. Its impact on the country’s development is significant. Investments in tourism infrastructure can further boost this growth.

Improved transportation, hotels, and attractions can attract more visitors. These developments can enhance Brazil’s global tourism appeal.

This growth in tourism can help diversify Brazil’s economy. It can reduce reliance on other sectors. The influx of tourists brings more spending and investment.

In short, this creates a ripple effect, benefiting various industries. Brazil’s tourism sector holds immense potential for driving future economic success.
