Aruba has started the new travel year with concentrated power.
After a 98% recovery last year compared to 2019, the Aruba Tourism Authority proudly looks back on a successful tourism re-launch.
With all corona-related entry requirements lifted in 2022, this year will once again see the celebration of all the festivals and events for which Aruba is known far beyond the country’s borders.
The first item on the event calendar: Carnival!
Until the end of February, the colorful parades parade through Aruba’s streets and enchant spectators with colorful costumes, dance, music, and twinkling lights.
In addition, well-known classics join the jam-packed event calendar, such as:
- the Aruba Hi-Winds kite and windsurfing competition (May 17-23, 2023),
- the Soul Beach Music Festival (May 25-20, 2023),
- the KLM Marathon (June 3 and 4, 2023),
- the Vow Renewal Ceremony Aruba I Do (9. August 2023),
- the Aruba Art Fair (September 2023),
- the Aruba Beach Tennis Championship (Nov. 14-21, 2023),
- and the World Functional Fitness Masters Championships (November 2023).
While celebrating the colorful festivities and meeting the warm-hearted Arubans, the famous Aruba effect sets in all by itself.
DREAMLIKE OVERNIGHT STAY IN ARUBA – HOTEL UPDATE
The new travel year in Aruba begins with a long-expected hotel opening: The Embassy Suites by Hilton Aruba Resort welcomes guests at Aruba’s famous Eagle Beach at the beginning of February.
The new resort is the first property under the Embassy Suites brand and the second Hilton resort on the island.
The 330 suites have a separate dining area, living room, and sleeping area.
In addition to room service, there are five on-site dining establishments, so guests can choose from various dining options.
The hotel is also well suited for meetings, social events, or weddings, with 9,400 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
The Aruba Ocean Villas is the only hotel complex on Aruba with overwater villas and is located in the quiet fishing village of Savaneta.
Each luxurious villa features a rustic but chic interior design made of high-quality Indonesian and Brazilian hardwood or bamboo.
The hotel complex is expanding to include seven Overwater Penthouse Villas, eight Premium Garden Villas, the resort’s first community pool, another restaurant, and a new lobby.
The Overwater Penthouse Villas are already completed and available for booking.
In the future, the Garden Villas will form a completely new hotel area surrounded by mangroves and palm trees with direct access to the new pool.
Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is in the final stages of its largest renovation project, with all 72 studios, public areas, and restaurants undergoing upgrades and improvements.
Extensive renovations were also recently completed at Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa.
The newly renovated deluxe rooms with garden views feature new bathrooms equipped with marble, cherry wood, and barrier-free showers.
All guest rooms, suites, and hallways were recently remodeled at The Ritz-Carlton Aruba.
The 320 spacious guest rooms are now decorated in natural shades of beige, blue, and green.
King guestrooms have also been upgraded with pull-out sofa beds and state-of-the-art technology.
The new hallways feature a flowing light blue carpet and captivate with locally inspired artwork, brighter walls, and improved lighting. Plus, there are some new culinary experiences.
The Madero Pop-Up Bar is a vibrant addition to the pool area, where guests can enjoy freshly mixed cocktails.
Lively Caribbean rhythms from a live DJ perfectly punctuate the experience.
FOCUS AREAS FOR 2023
In addition to the continuous improvement and expansion of accommodations, the focus on Aruba will be on the segments of wellness, romance, families, culinary, diving, and water sports, as well as exclusive experiences.
This is accompanied by new products and offerings that further enhance the guest experience.
The latest addition to the wellness and sports offering is the QR-Fit fitness app, thanks to which individual athletes don’t have to miss out on exercise even during their vacation.
Along a 2.5-kilometer stretch of Malmok Boulevard, 12 codes await, hiding fitness exercises at three difficulty levels.
The exercises change every 24 hours, so there’s no chance of getting bored while exercising.
Two more tracks are to follow in the course of the year. Aruba is also continuing to expand its pioneering role in sustainability.
Most recently, Aruba Airport became the world’s first green Globe-certified airport.
Hotels are also striving to become increasingly green, including waste management systems, rainwater, and wastewater treatment, reduction of single-use plastic, and biological cleaning agents.
Aruba belongs to the archipelago of the Dutch Antilles off the coast of South America.
It is an ideal destination for sun worshippers, water sports enthusiasts, nature lovers, and cultural vultures.
