Uber launches bus and shuttle charter corporate solution after dismantling delivery services

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Uber has begun operating in the bus and shuttle charter market for companies with its Uber Shuttle service. The novelty has been in operation since Wednesday, January 12. A week earlier, the company announced the end of Uber Eats, which will be available only until March 7.

With Uber Shuttle, exclusive for companies, vehicles accommodating 10 to 50 people can be used to shuttle employees to and from work.

Thus, employees of companies that use the platform may book a seat on the bus or shuttle through the app, in addition to checking the routes and stops available for pick-up and drop-off in real time. For companies, the service also offers weekly reports on the operation of the transportation system.

Uber for Business Latin America director Tavane Gurdos says that the introduction of Uber Shuttle for Companies in Brazil is an indication of the growing number of companies focused on offering more benefits to their employees.

“Uber Shuttle for Companies comes at this point and combines the ease of use of the Uber app, which is already known by all, with the offer of a new product that promotes the displacement of employees of the same company.”

Toyota do Brasil was the first company to close a commercial agreement with Uber for Companies, connecting charter bus transportation companies with the automaker to drive employees from São Paulo to Sorocaba, where it has a plant.
