Brazil has Twelve Airports Among the Best in the World

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Twelve Brazilian airports remained among the top 50 in the world, according to the 2019 AirHelp Score, an international ranking of the best airports and airline companies.
Among the top 25, Rio de Janeiro got two airports ranked: Santos Dumont, which was ranked in 17th place, and the Rio de Janeiro International Airport RIOgaleão (25th place).
The ranking is done by AirHelp, the most significant international company for airline passenger rights.
Brazil was the country that had the most airports among the top 50 in the world, with representation in four out of the five regions in the country: South, Southeast, Northeast, Central-West.
The rating is the index in which Brazilian airports were rated most highly, seeing as 11 out of the 12 airports got a score above eight.
Secondly, there is the quality of the services and, lastly, the quality of the retail, which takes the food and store options into consideration, said Karin Herbsthofer, AirHelp expert in passenger rights.
She believes that an improvement of Brazilian airports in those criteria might help raise their positions in the ranking.
According to the research, released last week, Afonso Pena International Airport, in Curitiba (Paraná), got the fourth place, with 8.37 points.
The three best airports in the world are the Hamad International Airport, in Qatar, with 8.39 points, the same score as the Tokyo Haneda International Airport, followed by the Athens International Airport, with 8.38 points.
The Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas (São Paulo), is in 10th place, with 8.25 points. The last Brazilian airport listed was the one in Guarulhos, which is in 45th place, with a total of 7.76 points.
Launched in 2015, it is considered the most comprehensive and precise rating of airline companies and airports. From then on, every year AirHelp has produced a global ranking of the world’s best-known airports.
This year, 132 of the world’s best-known and most used airports were analyzed and ranked.
