Brazil has 1 hotel with a top score and 8 others cited in the Forbes travel guide
By Anaísa Catucci
Brazil had nine hotels mentioned in Forbes Travel Guide 2023, a travel guide that anonymously elects several properties worldwide.
The Hotel das Cataratas, which belongs to the Belmond group, was the only one in the country and South America to get the maximum score.
Eight other Brazilian hotels appear in the 65th edition of the ranking: some are rated four stars, and others appear as “recommended” (see below).

This year’s list featured 48 new five-star hotels, 64 new four-star properties, and 45 new recommended hotels.
The professionals who evaluate and rate the hotels travel the world anonymously.
According to Forbes, they stay at each hotel, posing as regular guests, and test up to 900 items, from modern luxuries to traditional amenities, such as decor and courteous staff.
