Village Jockey Club Festival Returns to Rio de Janeiro

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Following the success of last year’s first edition, held during the 2014 World Cup, the Village Jockey Club festival will return to the Jockey Club do Rio de Janeiro, located in the neighborhood of Gávea, for twelve days beginning today, June 4th.

Continuing through June 21st, the festival will feature parties, food, food trucks and live performances by both national and international DJs, musicians, and bands including Mapei, Tropkillaz, Jeremih, Anitta, and Preta Gil.

The “Welcome Village 2015” party kicks off the festival on June 4th, with the popular Brazilian DJing duo Tropkillaz spinning, in addition to Tropical Trap, Leondre, and a special MOO DJ set. Tropkillaz were recently announced as part of the Rock in Rio 2015 Eletrônica Stage line-up.

The Grand Opening party on Friday, June 5th will feature a live performance by American rapper Jeremih and performances by Diana Bouth, BlackHaus Crew, Pathy DeJesus, and Bernardo Campos.

Also scheduled for the festival, Anitta, Flor Matos and the Cone Crew Diretoria will perform on Thursday, June 11th and Swedish-American singer Mapei will perform on Thursday, June 18th. Known for her hits “Don’t Wait” and “Change,” Mapei was last in Rio de Janeiro state as part of the lineup for the 2014 edition of the Ausländer Musik Festival, in Petrópolis.

Additionally during the Village Jockey Club festival this year there will be three nights of Sambinha parties, one night each of the Hashtag, Esbórinia, Nas Internas, and Rocka Roka parties and a special Festa Juninha.

When: June 4th through June 21st. Open on Thursdays and Fridays from 11PM to 4AM; Saturdays from 11PM to 4AM; and Sundays from 11PM to 4AM.
Where: Jockey Club do Rio de Janeiro, Tribuna C, Praça Santos Dumont, 31, Gávea
Entrance: R$25 for daytime programming and R$40 for nighttime programming.
