The former home of Brazilian star singer Gal Costa in Trancoso, Bahia, is now a top-class pousada
Besides being one of the greatest voices of Brazilian popular music, Gal Gosta – who passed away on Wednesday (Nov. 9) – was also a lover of the beauties of the Brazilian coast.
A property on Nativos Beach, in the luxurious Bahian destination of Trancoso, which belonged to the singer, has now become a high-end tourist accommodation option: the Pousada Estrela D’Água.

Over the years, Gal’s house has become just a part of the complex that counts 28 accommodations, including four bungalows 600 meters away from the Trancoso Square.
The square is in an area of the old village founded by Jesuits and recognized as a World Heritage Site by Unesco, including the famous colorful houses of the region and the Church of São João Batista.
To mark an important chapter in the history of the place, the team that manages the inn has remembered Gal with a tribute in which she sings on the sands of Trancoso.
Not by chance, the Bungalô Costa is part of the pousada, a duplex of 200 square meters facing the sea that offers a suite with a balcony, living room with two environments, terrace with jacuzzi, toilet with cold shower, sun beds and hammock.

There are also other comforts, such as coffee machines, wi-fi, satellite TV, air conditioning, and a minibar.
In common with other spaces in the establishment is the rustic style maintained in the decoration.

Surrounded by the Atlantic Forest, the inn also has other bungalows, suites, and common areas such as a spa, living room with TV, game room, redário, boutique, fitness studio, gym, and two swimming pools, one of them with hydro-massage.

Estrela D’Água also offers guests support for outdoor activities in its surroundings, such as kayaking through the mangrove, bike trails through the forest, motorboat rides, helicopter rides, diving, yoga, meditation, stand-up paddle, whale watching, and pottery classes, among others.

Both guests and visitors can enjoy the inn’s two restaurants and bars.
They are the Aldeia São João, which specializes in a mix of Bahian and international cuisine.

The Bar da Costa serves drinks by the pool in front of the sea, and the Cumbuca, focuses on light and healthy dishes, such as carpaccios and bowls with seafood.
