At least six people were missing after the shipwreck of a passenger boat in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, off the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, reported the Fire Brigade.
Twelve people were aboard the boat, six of whom were rescued alive, Rio de Janeiro Fire Brigade Commander General Leandro Monteiro told Globonews news channel.
The boat was traveling near Paquetá Island, located in Guanabara Bay when it was caught in the middle of a storm that affected Rio de Janeiro during the afternoon and early evening.

Tactical divers from the Fire Brigade were searching for the missing with the help of helicopters, and jet skis, said Monteiro.
In a communiqué, the Brazilian Navy informed that it had opened an investigation to determine the causes of the shipwreck of the vessel traveling within the Guanabara Bay between Ilha do Governador, where Rio de Janeiro’s international airport is located, and Paquetá Island.
