Saturday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Alto Vidigal returns with a brand new party filled with funk and remnants of your favorite 70s and 80s soul hits. Festa Rewind will make its premiere as a stellar lineup of funkmasters, break beaters, hip hoppers and rhythm masters take stage for a night of unforgettable funk.
Leading the brigade will be DJ and producer Wash, who hails from Brasília. Wash has been in the DJ spotlight for years, playing all over Brazil and Canada with his project Funk the System. Also lined up is DJ Dani Souto, who will be appearing as his alter ego Dyonisus Jr., rocking you favorite funk and rap hits from the early 80s. Resident Mike Frugaletti will be throwing down his blend of funky breaks and soulful cuts. Also expect to be amazed by Sandro Lustosa, lead percussionist for B-Negao and Manu Chau.

Festa Ploc 80s returns to Circo Voador to pay tribute to all things 80s. With a monster lineup and funky 80s decor, the last edition brought out close to 3,000 people. Tonight should be no different. Lineup includes Yahoo, John Bunch, Poets of Rock and Katia.

Lace up your shell tops, squeeze into your best bell bottoms and frizz up the afro as you take a step back in time at Festa Rewind. Funkmasters DJ Wash, Dani Souto and Mike Frugaletti come together with B-Negao and Manu Chau percussionist Sandro Lustosa to throw down some serious funk, soul and breaks while looking over the best view Rio has to offer.
