Placebo opens its 2027 Latin American tour in São Paulo, playing songs from its first two albums for their 30th anniversary. Here is what visitors need to know about the Placebo São Paulo concert, from tickets and fees to transport and safety.

Placebo, the London alternative rock band, plays Suhai Music Hall in São Paulo on Saturday, 20 February 2027. The Placebo São Paulo concert is the first night of a ten-date Latin American tour that ends in Mexico.

Eventim, the official seller, opened general sales on Friday, 2 October, after a fan presale and an early-bird window. Full-price tickets cost BRL 620 to BRL 960 (about US$124 to US$191), before a separate service fee.

Who Is Playing and Why It Matters

Placebo formed in London in the mid-1990s around singer Brian Molko and bassist Stefan Olsdal. Many US listeners know its song Every You Every Me from the closing scene of the 1999 film Cruel Intentions.

The 2027 shows mark 30 years since the band’s self-titled debut album, released in 1996. The band says the sets will feature songs from that record and from Without You I’m Nothing, its 1998 follow-up.

Placebo announced the Latin American run on Instagram in September with a short video featuring Olsdal. “We are very pleased to announce we will be returning to tour Latin America next year,” the band wrote.

The Brazilian promoter is Mercury Concerts, according to Rolling Stone Brasil and the São Paulo music site Overdrive. São Paulo is the tour’s only stop in Brazil’s south-east, and Brazil’s largest city.

The tour lists no US dates, so Brazil and Mexico are the nearest options for American fans. Monterrey, on 18 March, is the closest show to the US border, while São Paulo opens the run a month earlier.

Date, Doors and Start Time

Eventim lists the show for Saturday, 20 February 2027, with doors at 7 p.m. and music from 9 p.m. local time. Suhai Music Hall sits inside Shopping SP Market, at Avenida das Nações Unidas 22540 in Jurubatuba.

São Paulo runs on UTC minus three hours all year, because Brazil no longer uses daylight saving time. In February, that puts the city two hours ahead of New York, so 9 p.m. there is 7 p.m. Eastern.

The other Brazilian dates are Brasília on 23 February, Curitiba on 26 February and Porto Alegre on 28 February. Tickets for those three shows are sold by Bilheteria Digital, not by Eventim.

Eventim sets the age rating at 16, and younger fans may enter only with a parent or legal guardian. No opening act has been announced, and the listing does not give an end time.

Tickets and Prices for the Placebo São Paulo Concert

Eventim is the official seller for São Paulo, online at eventim.com.br, so buy there rather than from resale sites. Unofficial sellers cannot guarantee valid tickets, and the venue checks each code at the door.

The standing floor, called the pista, costs BRL 690 (about US$137) full price on Eventim. The mezzanine costs BRL 620 (about US$124), and the side mezzanines cost BRL 660 (about US$131).

Boxes, called camarotes, cost BRL 840 to BRL 960 (about US$167 to US$191) full price. Eventim lists its service fee separately, BRL 138 (about US$27) for a full-price pista ticket.

An early-bird rate, such as BRL 580 (about US$116) for the pista, ran for 48 hours from 30 September. Eventim says it closed when general sales began on 2 October at 10 a.m.

Eventim limits each buyer to six tickets per CPF, the Brazilian taxpayer number, including no more than two half-price tickets. Visitors without a CPF should check the checkout page before planning a purchase.

Half-Price Rules for Visitors

Half-price tickets, called meia-entrada, start at BRL 310 (about US$62) for the mezzanine. Brazil’s Federal Law 12,933 of 2013 reserves 40% of tickets at each event for this rate.

The benefit covers registered students, people with disabilities and some low-income young people listed in a federal register. People aged 60 or over get at least 50% off under the Statute of Older Persons.

Students must show a Brazilian student ID card when buying and again at the entrance. Foreign student cards are not on the law’s list, so most visitors under 60 should budget for full price.

Getting There

Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) receives direct flights from several US hubs, including New York, Miami and Houston. It lies north-east of the city, so allow well over an hour by road to the south zone.

Avenida das Nações Unidas is the formal name of the Marginal Pinheiros, the expressway along the Pinheiros River. The venue sits on its southern stretch, beyond the Brooklin and Santo Amaro office districts.

Hotels near Avenida Paulista or Itaim Bibi make a practical base, with ride-hailing apps widely used for the trip south. The Pinheiros River corridor is also served by commuter trains, but check late services before relying on them.

The concert starts at 9 p.m. on a Saturday, so the journey home will fall late at night. Booking a ride-hailing car from the mall avoids waiting on quiet streets after the show.

Safety and Costs for Visitors

The US State Department rates Brazil at Level 2, Exercise Increased Caution, citing crime and kidnapping. It also warns that robberies and assaults using drugged drinks occur in big cities.

At the concert, carry only the phone holding your ticket, one card and a little cash. Keep valuables in front pockets, and avoid showing your phone on the street outside the venue.

US citizens need a Brazilian visa approved before travel, according to the State Department. Passports must be valid on the date of entry, with a blank page for the entry stamp.

The cheapest full-price seat, in the mezzanine, costs about US$124 before the service fee. A full-price pista ticket plus the reported fee comes to about US$165, before flights and hotels.

Conversions use a rate of BRL 5.02 per US dollar from 11 October 2026. Card payments in reais may carry foreign transaction fees, depending on the bank.

What It Means for You

For US fans of 1990s alternative rock, the Placebo São Paulo concert is a rare chance to hear the early albums live. With no US dates on the tour, Brazil and Mexico are the realistic choices.

The show falls ten days after Brazil’s Carnival, which ends on Ash Wednesday, 10 February 2027. Sort out the visa first, then book flights that avoid the Carnival peak.

US expats in São Paulo can buy with their CPF, and Brazilian student card holders may qualify for half price. Everyone else should compare the mezzanine and pista prices, then add the service fee.

What Is Not Known

The opening act, the set length and the full setlist have not been announced. Eventim’s page does not state whether foreign buyers without a CPF can complete a purchase.

Mercury Concerts’ role as promoter comes from Brazilian media reports, because its website could not be checked. The official box office location, if any, is not listed on the Eventim page.
