Liberty Latin America Signs 10-Year AI Operations Deal With Amdocs

The Liberty Latin America Amdocs deal hands one supplier responsibility for a regional telecom group’s full IT environment for a decade, making execution and service continuity as important as the promised AI efficiencies.

Liberty Latin America said on August 5 that Amdocs will manage its end-to-end IT ecosystem across Latin America and the Caribbean. The companies plan to move existing operations onto Amdocs’ Agentic Operating System, or aOS. They describe the target model as AI-driven; no independent performance evidence accompanied the announcement.

A Broad Outsourcing Decision

The scope matters more than the product label. Liberty operates consumer brands including BTC, Flow, Liberty and Más Móvil in more than 20 countries. Moving the full IT domain to a single long-term manager can standardize processes across those markets, but it also concentrates delivery risk with one vendor.

Prodapt, an existing Liberty supplier, will collaborate with Amdocs throughout the engagement. The companies said the transition should occur over the coming months, with Prodapt supporting continuity. They did not publish milestones, staffing effects or country-by-country implementation dates.

The Financial Claim

Liberty chief executive Balan Nair told investors the transaction is expected to generate more than US$250 million in net present value. That is management’s estimate of discounted benefits, not the amount Liberty will pay Amdocs. Neither company disclosed the contract price or the assumptions behind the forecast.

For Amdocs, the agreement expands a managed-services business that generated US$791 million, or about 67% of revenue, in its fiscal third quarter. Amdocs called the contract a meaningful expansion in the Caribbean and Latin American region; that characterization remains the vendor’s.
