RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – This weekend, from August 18th to August 20th, Parque dos Patins, at Lagoa, hosts the new edition of Lagoa Bier Fest. Besides diverse food trucks and beer stalls, the free event includes pop, rock and MPB shows and DJs.
Opening the musical line up on Friday, August 18th, at 8PM will be musician Guto Goffi and O Bando do Bem band.
Also the guitar player of Brazilian famous rock band Barão Vermelho, Goffi goes up on Lagoa Bier Fest‘s stage to present his second solo album, “BEM”, in which O Bando do Bem participated.
Besides Goffi’s compositions, the show promises to bring Barão Vermelho’s classic hits, like “Puro Êxtase” (Pure Ecstasy) and “Por Você” (For You), and a setlist of rock classics.
On Saturday, August 19th, it is time for the 1960s rock music with Licor do Canavial band, at 8PM. Formed by Felipe Lauria (vocal and electric guitar), João Mattos (vocal and guitar), Caio Barreto (electric guitar), Gabriel Carvalho (vocal and bass) and Léo Novo (drums), the group will bring a repertoire that includes Beatles, Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Brazilian band Jovem Guarda.
Blending MPB, pop, folk music and even Argentina’s tango, the Relva band performs on Sunday, August 20th. At 7PM, the group will present great renditions of Amy Winehouse, Belchior, Milton Nascimento, John Mayer, Maria Rita, among other Brazilian and international artists. On the three days of event, DJ Karla Gasparini will play during the intervals.
Diverse food stalls can be found at the venue, varying from handmade burgers and sweets to pastas. Bolo de Pote da Gabi’s cakes, Shawarma’s arabian cuisine, Le Frenchie Crepes, Taberna Pizza, Jalapeño’s Mexican food and Mandala’s burgers are some of the participant restaurants.
For the beer lovers, over ten different artisanal labels will be present at Lagoa Bier Fest, including Birra Novata, Hop Lab, Thyrthy Hawks, Paulistanea, Mistura Clássica, Carangos, Noi, Backer, Imperial and Marley’s.
