Golden Tulip Hotels and BHG in Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Golden Tulip hotel chain offers five different properties in Rio de Janeiro, catering to different needs of location, as well as economics. The locations vary from São Conrado, to Ipanema and Copacabana – where the beach-facing Tulip Inn Copacabana exterior and lobby has been elegantly renovated in 2010.

The Golden Tulip hotels in Rio offer an array of price options to meet the demands of travelers on different budgets. Their hotels, from three to five stars, range from about R$300 up to R$3,000 a night.

The latter price is for the apartment suite in the Royal Tulip, the Golden Tulip’s most luxurious hotel in Rio. It is located in São Conrado, the beachside neighborhood between Leblon and Barra da Tijuca.

Placed beneath the Pedra da Gávea mountain and directly in front of the tranquil São Conrado beach, the Royal Tulip offers stunning views. Also, its beach is clean and usually has much fewer crowds than in Ipanema or Copacabana.

The Royal Tulip has 418 rooms and twenty event rooms for parties, weddings, and business meetings that can hold up to 2,000 people. Leisure facilities include two tennis courts, a swimming pool, gym, sauna, and beauty salon.

The Tulip Inn Copacabana is the hotel chain’s mid-priced three-star option. It is located on famous Avenida Atlântica, overlooking the beach and in walking distance to metro station Siqueira Campos, and is therefore ideally situated for tourist activities. This hotel has 117 rooms plus a fitness center and sauna.

After renovating the outside and lobby in 2010, the Tulip Inn in Copacabana also opened the Branche restaurant overlooking the beach and promenade and serving Brazilian and international cuisine.

Also found in Copacabana is the Golden Tulip Regente, with 231 guest rooms and five event rooms. A rooftop pool and bar with ocean views makes this an excellent option for those looking to take in Rio’s sunshine.

The Regente and the Golden Tulip Continental are the less expensive options of the Tulip hotels. The Continental is located in Leme, the quaint neighborhood located on the north end of Copacabana Beach. This hotel has 275 rooms, five event rooms, pool, bar, restaurant, and fitness center.

The Golden Tulip Ipanema Plaza is another of the group’s excellent luxury options, situated in the heart of Ipanema, with a rooftop pool, overlooking the beach, and 140 rooms.

The Golden Tulip hotel group was founded in the early 1960s in the Netherlands. Many of their Brazil locations are operated by the Brazil Hospitality Group, the third largest hotel chain in Brazil.
