Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Mauricio Lopes is one of Rio de Janeiro’s founding fathers of the electronic music scene. Since the early 90’s, he has been DJing and putting on shows showcasing the best of house, techno and tech house. Tonight he returns to Fosfobox in Copacabana for yet another edition of Mau, the self named party that has been rocking Rio for the past few years now.
Tonight’s lineup includes the man himself alongside special guest and resident DJ from D-Edge in São Paulo, Marcio Vermelho. A big fan of house and disco music, his repertoire includes lots of variations of funk, acid, deep house, italo, electro-disco, breakbeats, nu-disco, cosmic and disco-punk. These two heavy hitters are sure to put on a show tonight at Rio’s premier underground venue.

Circo Voador welcomes a night dedicated to the rap movement with Oriente and guests. Born in Niteroi in 2008, Oriente earned respect from their unique lyrics and musicality. Tonight they welcome guests Helio Bentes (Ponto de Equilíbrio), Marechal, Haikaiss, Fabio Beleza, Tati Veras (Raiz do Sana), Forfun, Eletrobase DJs, and Daniel Shadow in collaboration with Filipe Ret.

Local legend Mauricio Lopes returns to Fosfobox with his self named tech fest Mau. Tonights edition will feature the man himself, accompanied by São Paulo’s D-Edge resident DJ Marcio Vermelho and Carioca Cau Lopez. Upstairs will be held down by David Tabalipa and Angelo Bottino.
