Emboldened by inaction of Bolsonaro and the Armed Forces, large-scale persecution ordered by Moraes begins

The millions of Brazilians who blindly trusted Jair Bolsonaro may face a harsh reality and come to bitterly regret their support sooner rather than later.

After 45 days of continuous demonstrations against the alleged electoral fraud and in favor of military intervention, during which Bolsonaro and the military did absolutely nothing (in contrast to the Peruvian military), the out-of-control judiciary, strengthened by the inaction of the opponents, is now making an all-out attack.

The Brazilian Federal Police meets on the morning of Thursday (Dec. 15) on more than 80 arrest warrants, search and seizure against supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL, right) for blocking highways after the election of Lula da Silva (PT, progressive-globalist).

The operation was authorized by the Justice of the Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, the self-appointed censorship czar and de facto ruler of the country.

In addition to warrants, the following actions were also approved:

• blocking the accounts of the investigated;
• breach of bank secrecy of the investigated.

The search warrants are served in seven states (Acre, Amazonas, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná, Santa Catarina) and the Federal District.

STILL MANY PEOPLE TO ARREST

On Wednesday (Dec. 14), Moraes had said he still had “many people to arrest and many fines to apply” during the 4th seminar “STF in Action”.

Moraes’ speech quoted the previous speech by STF minister Dias Toffoli. He mentioned the 964 arrests made in the United States of those involved in the January 2021 invasion of the Capitol.

“I was happy with Minister Toffoli’s speech because comparing the numbers; there are still a lot of people to arrest and a lot of fines to apply,” Moraes said.

However, it was unclear if the magistrate was talking about the USA or Brazil. The comment provoked laughter and applause from the audience present.

On Monday (Dec. 12), after the certification of president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT, progressive-globalist) and vice-president-elect Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), some Brazilian Spring protesters tried to storm the headquarters of the Federal Police in Brasilia.

The attacks began following the order to temporarily arrest the Xavante Indian José Acácio Cererê Xavante, 42, at the behest of Moraes.

On November 30, 2022, the cacique was filmed acting against Lula da Silva’s victory in front of the National Congress.

On that occasion, he harassed the minister and said he would take him “by the scruff of the neck”.

There were acts of vandalism in the vicinity of the Federal Police headquarters and the destruction of cars and buses near the site.

No demonstrators were arrested in the act.

On Wednesday (Dec. 14), Moraes gave 48 hours for the Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Anderson Torres, and the governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), to detail the measures taken during the acts of violence in the capital.

The order was issued based on a petition from Senator Randolfe Rodrigues (Rede).
