Double Rock Show at Rio’s Fundição Progresso, Oct. 21

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Friday, October 21st, Fundição Progresso in Lapa will be celebrating a national rock night with two complete shows from two Brazilian rock bands, Capital Inicial and Raimundos. The venue which is known for fostering cultural activities and hosting great music events will open at 10PM and the show will begin at midnight.

The rock band, Capital Inicial will be celebrating fifteen years since its revival and the Raimnundos are celebrating 20 years of career. The two bands will take to the stage arena, each band showcasing the best of their music over the years and demonstrating the musical success they have both rightly achieved.

Capital Inicial was formed in the 1980s yet rose to fame 15 years ago with the project MTV Unplugged. That milestone for the band came parallel with a new guitar player Yves Passarell that worked in partnership with Dinho Ouro Preto and the composer Alvin L. Together, the group recorded five albums of fresh, new material that elevated their success to a higher level.

It is this spirit of rennovation and edgy material that the fans will witness in their show on Friday with the group performing unplugged music. Capital Inicial will play tracks from recent albums such as Resurrection and Christ the Redeemer, in addition to career success hits such as Depois da meia-noite (After Midnight) and À sua maneira (Have it Your way).

The band Raimundos, made up of band members Digão, Canisso, Marquim and Caio, will present a 20 year summary of their greatest hits that mix rock and forró. The northeaster band will perform a repertoire that was chosen by an online vote that was open to the public. Puteiro em João Pessoa (Whorehouse in João Pessoa), Eu quero ver o oco (I want to see the Hollow), and Tora Tora were the most voted. The band will also bring a rock version of Meu Lugar (My Place) by Arlindo Cruz.

The rock show will take place on Friday, October 21st at Fundição Progresso. The venue will open at 10PM with the show starting at midnight.
