The Jair Bolsonaro government will pay R$12.6 (US$2.38) billion by the first round of elections (Oct. 2), with benefits that were not foreseen in the budget. Together with the funds already in place, the total payout is R$27 (US$5.1) billion.

It will directly benefit 20.7 million people. They will directly receive some kind of additional money thanks to the approval of the PEC.

Auxílio Brasil (survival aid) will be paid to 18.1 million beneficiaries. If family members are taken into account, the number of beneficiaries is 53 million. There are no estimates for the other benefits.

The PEC was passed in June with the support of MPs backing the government and the opposition.

It foresees R$41 (US$7.7) billion in spending over the spending cap. However, the projection for payments through Round 1 is 31% of this total. Equivalent to 0.1% of GDP.
