Brazil: Port of Vitória breaks record and achieves best month in 56 years

In September, the Port of Vitória handled 839,976 tons of cargo, surpassing the last record of 830,209 tons set in July this year. The 9th month's mark has now become the largest volume handled at the Espírito Santo port in the past 56 years.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The most significant shipments involved solid and liquid bulk operations, as well as general and containerized cargo.

According to Espírito Santo Ports Company's (CODESA) Planning and Development coordinator Leonardo Bianchi, there is an explanation for the string of records registered by the Port of Vitória.

"Our commercial policy is in full operation, there is a rapprochement with our players. In addition, our low berthing waiting list has attracted the interest of customers, who ultimately prefer the Port of Vitória for its agility in operations," Bianchi explained.
