Russia and Nicaragua agree on their cybersecurity cooperation plan 2022-2026

The governments of Russia and Nicaragua signed a cooperation agreement on cybersecurity after holding consultations on computer security, according to the press service of the Russian Security Council.

According to the Russian agency Interfax, this is the Russian-Nicaraguan cooperation plan on cybersecurity for 2022-2026.

During the consultations, detailed the Russian Security Council, a detailed exchange of opinions was carried out on all aspects aimed at guaranteeing security in the computer sphere, including interaction in specialized international spaces,” added the Russian Security Council.

The Russian delegation that attended the talks in Managua was headed by the Undersecretary of the Russian Security Council, Oleg Khramov, while the Nicaraguan delegation was led by the Nicaraguan Foreign Minister, Denis Moncada.

“In this context, Nicaragua has a cybersecurity law that establishes promoting, preserving, and guaranteeing the sovereign and reliable use of cyberspace. Given the transversal use of information and communication technologies, with the sustainable development of digital technology, this step that we are giving today in the development of cooperation helps us to promote relations of collaboration, peace and security,” assured Foreign Minister Moncada.

For his part, Khramov indicated that the main content of this cooperation will be “the defense of the national sovereignty of each of the participating parties.” And he assured: “We are ready to cooperate in the conditions of the fight against the growing threat in this area of ​​information technology.”
