Brazil Leads as Initial Customer for Edge Group’s Advanced Missile

At the Dubai Airshow 2023, the Edge Group unveiled the Mansup-ER missile, an advanced Brazilian anti-ship and surface missile.

This new version boasts an extended range of 200 km and can carry a 150 kg explosive warhead.

It features in-flight reprogramming of navigation waypoints and operates close to the sea surface for evasion.

This missile outperforms existing systems in South America, assuming the Brazilian Navy as its primary customer.

The Mansup-ER has a 200 km range and a propellant burn time of 17 minutes. It’s especially valuable in the Persian Gulf, a key oil transport route.

The UAE Armed Forces consider precision-guided weapons like the Mansup-ER essential for their naval operations.

Beyond the missile, Edge Group showcased ‘X Range’ at their prominent stand.

This facility is the first in the Gulf region for testing, evaluation, and training of commercial, aerospace, and defense products.

It provides comprehensive testing for air, land, sea, and electronic warfare systems and platforms, aiding the development of various defense technologies.

Located on the secure Abu Al Abyad Island, X Range includes a 3,800 m runway for large aircraft and a 1,200 m runway for unmanned aircraft.

The facility features a permanently closed air danger zone, extendable to high altitudes.

Urban Training Village

X Range is equipped with an urban training village, a digital communications network, and a coastline for maritime exercises.

Mansour Al Mulla, CEO of Edge Group, highlighted X Range’s sophisticated and flexible testing capabilities for the Middle East, Africa, and Central and South Asia regions.

X Range will test ground and air munitions, electronic warfare weapons, and signal jammers, supported by high-precision video, telemetry, and data acquisition systems.

This includes advanced tracking radars and passive radiofrequency surveillance for electronic warfare product testing.

Omar Al Zaabi of Edge Group expressed pride in X Range. It will allow clients to extend their capabilities across various combat environments.

X Range equips clients with coastal training areas for practical maritime drills. Additionally, it offers shooting ranges for firearm proficiency development.

Furthermore, an urban training village helps simulate realistic urban combat environments. Importantly, a fully operational runway facilitates diverse aircraft operations.

Moreover, dedicated UAV testing zones allow for thorough drone testing and evaluation. Also, a test planning center streamlines the coordination of all test activities.
