Uruguay will no longer require a negative test for entry as of April

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – It is “almost a fact” that Uruguay will no longer require a negative Covid 19 result through an antigen test or PCR to enter the country starting in April, El País said, citing government sources.

Although a substantial increase in BA.2 infections is not expected, El País reports that this new variant is expected to replace Omicron and dominate in the coming months.

All persons entering Uruguay today must present a negative Covid 19 result by antigen or PCR technique, although this may change in the coming weeks.

In addition, an affidavit must be completed and accompanied by the vaccination certificate within 48 hours prior to arrival. The authorities require that the affidavit be submitted with the same document you intend to use to enter Uruguay.
